3 embedded world – the official daily 2024 Messe-News Dienstag 09 04 2024 communicate This can also be seen at today’s show Switch on your Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and the sheer number of available devices both carried by guests at the show and on display is astonishing Just as the show is abuzz with communication and activity so are the radiowaves around us The new era of connected technology is well and truly here and while there are many exciting examples of such solutions already on the market today’s event offers an exciting glimpse into the next generation and helps inspire future innovation However if greater communication is the aim then embedded electronics will be the driving force underpinning everything from the latest Wi-Fi 6 and future Wi-Fi 7 networks to citywide IoT networks and vehicletovehicle communication V2V The electronic components industry is venturing deeper into the automotive industry which has historically been the domain of mechanical systems and internal combustion While the electrification of the drivetrain is often cited as the main shift toward electronics there is another force that those in the industry can sense which is the push towards greater intelligence and here again embedded solutions will play a crucial role The question “How can we make this smarter?” is now applied to every subsystem in a vehicle Intelligent decisionmaking at the edge and more sophisticated programming is making the systems with which we directly interact such as cockpit controls and lighting infinitely smarter but the potential extends much further The market is poised to witness a transformative shift when AI and machine learning ML vehicle assistance and autonomous driving systems solutions on display at today’s event are deployed in cars available on the market For this advancement in intelligence to come to fruition cars can no longer be a standalone product Instead they must communicate Here V2V and vehicletoeverything V2X communication will be key in allowing future smart vehicles to operate effectively Our capacity to communicate allows us to share thoughts impart knowledge and foster connections This fundamental trait is the one that will differentiate the upcoming generation of technology from its predecessors As we all flood into the halls today the Mouser Electronics team and Iwish you a day filled with success and inspiration Iencourage you to switch your communication to “On ” engage with other engineers and exhibitors and immerse yourself in the latest developments at this worldclass trade show Mark Patrick Mouser Electronics Member of the exhibition committee Amessage from the executive director Welcome to embedded world 2024 On behalf of my entire team Iwould like to welcome you to the embedded world Exhibition Conference For the next three days Nuremberg will again become the international meeting place of the embedded community The global embedded systems industry is at home here at embedded world – from components and modules operating systems hardware and software design to M2M communication services and many topics relating to complex system design Ifeel certain that many of the topics discussed at embedded world will also be of great interest to you as a participant The technological challenges and ethical issues arising from the use of such systems are not only of great importance right now but will also be of importance in the future You can be sure that the future of this industry will be defined here at embedded world the core themes of the embedded world Conference and the electronic displays Conference show us important topics that will drive the embedded systems industry in the coming years In addition to the topics of the future embedded world also focuses on the exchange and acquisition of knowledge For example find out more about the Cyber Resilience Act global connectivity the shortage of skilled labour and many other topics at the expert panels There will also be many opportunities for networking at embedded world Take part in our #women4ew networking event make your first contacts at the Student Day or find your new dream job in the job lounge And don‘t forget to pay a visit to the two startup areas in hall 3A and hall 5 Iwould like to wish all participants of the embedded world Exhibition Conference a successful and enjoyable time Take the opportunity to expand your networks gather new ideas and find out about the latest developments in the world of embedded technologies And please feel free to share your experiences on our new Instagram channel @embedded world official With kind regards Benedikt Weyerer Executive Director NürnbergMesse Agreeting from the conference chair Connecting the embedded community My wife and Iare only too happy to recall the moment many years ago when during an argument our son told his younger sister “Since we happen to find ourselves in the same family we will just have to stick together” What a child’s words expressed so eloquently also applies to the embedded world Sticking together and bringing people together is becoming increasingly important in view of the multiplicity of technological economic social and political challenges ever faster development cycles ever more intelligent and complex systems ever higher demands on security and reliability extraordinarily dynamic market shifts the rapid reorganisation of global and regional value chains the shortage of skilled workers new and not always clear legal requirements and and and We will discuss this and much more at the embedded world Exhibition Conference here in Nuremberg during the next three days • For the first time we received more than 600 submissions for the conference from which we have put together an intensive threeday programme including 243 presentations and 17 classes • More than 100 submissions for the embedded award were received this year – also a first so it will be exciting when we announce the winners at the award ceremony today and in tomorrow’s copy of this newspaper • 60 startups and newly founded businesses will be onsite to demonstrate their unbridled innovative strength • Agood 700 students from related degree courses will be coming to Nuremberg on Thursday as part of the Student Day to gain experience look for innovations and make contacts • And all other key indicators for the show suggest that we are heading for an alltime high It is particularly important for me that the industry recognises that we can only tackle these challenges together considering that we “happen to be active in the same embedded community” • In terms of content it is fascinating to integrate the many associations ecosystems and communities This year there are already many collaborative stands at the exhibition and numerous sessions at the conference that are “powered by our community partners” This allows us to link the very very interesting and topical content from the subsectors with issues related to complete systems • The international embedded industry will no longer just meet in Nuremberg but also from 12 to 14 June at embedded world China in Shanghai and from 8 to 10 October at the first embedded world North America in Austin Texas This linkage is already opening up completely new contacts and avenues of discussion Ilook forward to all of this and to many personal and professional encounters – be they by chance or by appointment Prof Dr -Ing Axel Sikora Chairman of embedded world Conference
