world premieres Kurtz Ersa’s portfolio of soldering systems is one of the broadest in the industry It is well worth taking a look at its further development because here the general technical development is reflected as hardly in any other company Aglance at three trends on the basis of three world premieres Trend 1 Traceable hand soldering Kurtz Ersa is presenting i-Con Trace a new IoT soldering station which according to the company enables seamless traceable hand soldering for the first time “This means that tasks that previously could only be reworked by machine can now be processed by hand ” the manufacturer says WLAN Bluetooth and a network card are integrated for connection with a Manufacturing Execution System MES Operation is via application software that is installed centrally on a company server Once the soldering station is integrated into the company network it can be assigned soldering tasks with specific specifications via the MES for example soldering temperature soldering duration or which soldering tip must be used Each individual soldering process can be electronically recorded documented and optionally made available to a customer’s MES via a gateway For documentation purposes the assembly soldering tip solder wire and flux used are scanned in before soldering Defects in the heating element or an incorrect soldering tip are automatically detected If all defined parameters are met a signal light releases the soldering process The station records process temperature and soldering duration and stores all data for documentation Trend 2 More efficient and effective reflow soldering The trend towards sustainability has arrived in the industry and is visible in the numerous companies that impose climate targets on themselves Kurtz Ersa’s climate roadmap is to be CO2 neutral in all business areas and also in the supply chain by 2029 At the same time more efficient and effective soldering systems are being developed Reduced power consumption increases plant efficiency shorter downtimes and reduced maintenance requirements increase overall plant effectiveness In the new Hotflow Three reflow soldering system temperature profiles can be more precisely adapted to the material and solder paste with a newly developed motor and control unit for the heating zones The new development also makes the system more energy efficient according to Kurtz Ersa Maintenance times would be shortened by a new filter and cleaning system that removes unwanted residues and impurities in the preheat zone and particle residues in the peak zone Condensate deposits in particular are captured in the cooling zone The new reflow soldering system is available in three lengths with 16 20 or 26 heat zones as required with a singletrack system or three variable dualtrack systems with optionally reinforced transport rails Trend 3 Lower entry hurdle to selective soldering Acquiring automation technology requires initial costs floor space and a certain willingness to take risks to commit to a system The hurdles for changing soldering technology are even higher The Versaflow One selective soldering system was developed to make it easier to start or switch to selective soldering in the production line It is Kurtz Ersa’s most compact selective soldering system to date requires only a small floor space and can be expanded Avariant with one soldering module is suitable for smaller series production and a variant with two soldering modules for higher throughput Special features include an improved heating system in the cross section which according to the manufacturer leads to 10 percent energy savings a short global delivery time of two to four weeks and an xvariability which allows for a significant increase in throughput This latter feature will be available in spring 2022 and is a first for the entrylevel class according to Kurtz Ersa The IoT hand soldering station reflow soldering and selective soldering systems have not yet been presented at any other trade fair and celebrate their world premiere at productronica 2021 There is another reason to celebrate on the third day of the trade fair It is November 18 2021 and Kurtz Ersa is celebrating its one hundredth anniversary mha Kurtz Ersa Hall A4 Booth 171 i-Con Trace IoT soldering station 150 watts Heating element and soldering tips can be replaced individually A Tip’n’Turn system is integrated for tip replacement which also allows hot tips to be quickly and easily replaced Bilder Kurtz Ersa Hotflow Three is currently Kurtz Ersa’s most advanced reflow soldering system and has been designed for high soldering quality high machine availability and resource efficiency Versaflow One compact selective soldering system It is operated via Ersasoft 5 an intuitive system software developed inhouse
